The collection includes the adventures Nightbird, Hot-Shot, and Ape-of-Diamonds. All three were written by Jim Lawrence with art by Yaroslav Horak. The stories were originally published in the Daily Express from January 1976 to January 1977 and mark the last strips for the Daily Express although both Lawrence and Horak as well as the original artist John McLusky teamed up again for syndicated Bond strips for the Sunday Express throughout the remainder of the 70s and early 80s.

This year The James Bond Omnibus Vol.002 will be published in the US and the UK simultaneously on September 28. Again this is just an omnibus of the yearly Titan Book releases with the old (yet cool) Daily Express comics. Included is The Man with the Golden Gun, The Spy Who Loved Me, You Only Live Twice, and “Octopussy” – among many more. Not sure what is included in the ‘many more’, but likely On Her Majesty’s Secret Service, “The Living Daylights” and “The Hildebrand Rarity”. Just a guess though.

This is an omnibus for the old Daily Express James Bond comic strips. It includes Casino Royale, Live and Let Die, Moonraker, Diamonds Are Forever, From Russia with Love, Dr. No, Goldfinger, Risico, From a View to a Kill, For Your Eyes Only, and Thunderball. Art for these strips was done by John McLusky.

Periodically, Titan Books has been publishing these strips in smaller collections. Many of them are actually original too, like the latest: The Girl Machine which was published just this past July. The stories in The James Bond Omnibus Vol.1 are supposed to be strips based on the novels or short stories which inspired the movies. I suspect a Vol.2 will be on the way though I don’t think there are too many more that could fill a Vol.3.

Anyway, I’ve always enjoyed these strips. They’re pretty cool. Check it out. For American fans, the omnibus will be published on November 17th.

It features three stories written by Jim Lawrence with art by Yaroslav Horak. The three stores, Death Wing, Sea Dragon, and When the Wizard Awakes were originally published in newspapers between 1977 and 1978.

These specific three mark a turn in the comic strip series as they were the first to be published after The Daily Express discontinued the series in 1977. “The Living Daylights”, which was first published in 1962, was the first and only strip up to this point not to be originally published by The Daily Express. Instead it was first published by The Sunday Times which resulted in the aborted Thunderball comic strip. These three stories were published originally by The Sunday Express, the Sunday edition of The Daily Express.
